Pepe`s Mexican Restaurant in Lafayette

Pepe's was originally our favorite but we feel it's gone downhill. I ordered the Carnitas and they were dry and hardly had any flavor at all. Great atmosphere and we've always had spectacular service but food is not authentic or fresh. I would return if food improves!

Steak tacos is the best. I like to eat them with the white caso cheese.

I ordered the Enchiladas Cozumel which has surimi(tastes like crab) as the main ingredient. I also order extra lettuce and tomatoes which I put on top of the Enchiladas. I also ask for the hotter salsa which is very good. I tend to like the spicier salsa. Rice and refried beans are also served with this meal. I highly recommend this item on the menu especially if you like the taste of crab. Surimi is imitation crab but is very tasty.

Nice staff. Waitress suggested a different way to order a specific meal to save us money. VERY good meal.

just an okay experience. the waitress was very nice and kind, she made sure to check on us. the salsa was very gross. as you can see, it was very watery. we added salt and pepper which helps lol. the queso was decent, but it wasn't very hot when it came out. the food was just okay! it came out relatively quick. it was just warm, not hot. overall, if you want decent and relatively affordable Mexican food this is a good pick.

I loved it. It opened after quarantine and it was wonderful, all the workers were amazing. Not all the guests were nice though, but that's not there problem.

After they served our drinks we waited for a very long time b4 she came back to take our order. She went to 2 different tables several different times b4 waiting on us..when she came back she said she would be right back after she served a table of drinks, which she did..she told us she was sorry but she was the only one waitressing in the bar AND also training someone..Businesses need to staff their businesses better.

This in one of our very few regular restaurants. We are very happy to be able to visit again and see all our friends. We've been extremely careful since March (old folks we are) and felt very comfortable today with the safety measures in place. Not at all like the big box HmDepot yesterday where nobody had a mask, not even the employees😱

Wait Staff had great attitude and provided great service. The food wasn't what it used to be. Still a good place to eat.

The Burrito dinner was not good at all. The steak was lacking favor. It was very bland. Beans and rice were the same thing. Plus they didn't even wrap it like a burrito. Look like a damn soft shell taco. Basically for all the other dishes is the same scenario. The food was just lacking flavor all over the place. Looked and smelled really good but the taste was not there. Had to force myself to finish the food. Just sucks. They served food they claimed to be Mexican dishes. Just water down plain no flavor food. I wouldn't even recommend this place to my enemies. They really need to reevaluate how to cook Mexican food.

Love this place. I've been going here most of my life (since I was ten or so) and it never disappoints. Beat margaritas around. The food is sooooo good. Go there. It's not super spicy and if you like it that way they do have hot sauce, which is wonderful.

Got order delivered, food was just lacking a lot of flavor. Portions sizes were good for the price. Probably will order from somewhere else again.

The server Anthony, he was great! He was very nice and paid attention to our table. The food was good with nice size portions. I will go back.

We had the BEST SERVER EVER. Her name is Maria she remembered us from a month ago even remembered our order. We drive from Indianapolis about once a month on a Friday night. We enjoy her we even told manager on duty. We will always request her

Let me start by saying that the place was spotless and the staff very accommodating. In the post covid-19 world, I tend to pay more attention to these things. First impression of the salsa was not impressed but it really grew on me as I ate more. When my food arrived, it looked delicious and there was more than enough. With that said, as I ate it I didn't get the rich Mexican spice profile I expected. It was good, fresh and the quality was excellent, it just didn't pop in my mouth. I suspect that is by design. I would classify this place as Mexican for the masses. Toned done for the American consumer. All of that said, if that is your thing, you will love this place. The atmosphere is good and the quality of the food was great.

The place wasn't even busy and it still took 45 minutes to get our food. The service was horribly slow and the food just tasted awful. If I could, I'd give zero starts. Would not recommend.

Food is delicious but the entire wait staff in the bar area is new and its not the same atmosphere. They messed up my friends food and didn't even offer to replace. Our server blammed the kitchen when he didn't ring it in right (could tell from receipt), then had her scrape off the unwanted ingredients instead of making it fresh. The new owners aren't giving us the same quality of service we once had. Sad. Wish Don Pablo's was still around.

Ordered steak burrito. It was liver in a tortilla with a piece of processed cheese on top. Absolutely disgusting.

Prompt service. Excellent food. Generous portions. Always family oriented clientele. Nice place and great location!

Had the taco special for lunch. The meat wasn't drained. Made the tacos very wet. Management made it better. Will be back. Next time I will ask them to make sure they drain the meat. Service was great 👌

Had party of 20. Service was not there. Had to ask for waitress all the time people ran out of drinks. Dishes stacked up. Ask for to go boxes and drinks and she was concerned about stocking station. Had to have I think a manager get things so we could go home.

Fajita was delicious and they had a nice patio! Everything was great.

It was horrible i drove clear across town for pick up when i got home it was completly wrong no verde on my enchiladas, no salsa for my chips no shells for my fajitas.. And wheni called the manager said well u can come pick up the missing items...by then all my food will be cold and discuting. Very dissapointing for 60 dollars

The food and service were good. The decor is awesome. I love how they repurposed old stuff to decorate the whole building. Lots to look at. Makes the place very unique.

My bean burrito tasted like wet dog food. The sour cream was literally SOUR cream. Chips were stale and salsa had no flavor. They have very little variety. When I go to a Mexican restaurant I expect to have good salsa and good chips. And I'm sorry but how hard is it to not mess up a BEAN BURRITO!!!! Very disappointed with this experience and very disappointed with the service

Wonderful food! The atmosphere is stunning, too! Very calm and relaxing. I never feel rushed to order or to finish my food. The bar is great to sit at, too. Sometimes it feels a bit chilly inside so if you're the type that gets cold easily, bring a jacket.

Vert upsetting just got their an went in seen how long it would take, about 20 minutes they said and “ we will call you” I have been sitting in the parking lot for about a hour now. Come on guys all you had to do was give a call.

Prices have gone way up!! They are closed on Mon and Tues, supposedly because they are lacking in business. You now have to pay for additional bowls of salsa and chips and peppers and carrots!! There is not another Mexican restaurant in town that does that! There are also other Mexican restaurants that are cheaper and the food is better. Pete's has been my favorite place for years but no more...

Staff is very nice and fast with service. The chips and salsa are the best I've ever had and I was really impressed until we got our food. Food was very bland. It was hot, looked great, but really lacked on flavor. (Not just mine but everyone's food at the table and we all had different meals.)

Worst experience ever! Got seated waited 20 mins for anyone to even acknowledge us. Waited another 10 mins to get chips and salsa the. She came back 10 mins later to get our drink order! Not even our food order. 20 mins later she came to take our food order. We waited so long I had to just get it to go. Got home and didn’t even get all the food very disappointing when you spend $60 on food.

Service was slow, food was not fresh, took 20 mins to get food. Not that it was bad food, but definitely not fresh and was not the Pepe's experience that it should have been. Margaritas were good as usual though.
